SMTS Safety Regulations

 

SMTS Company considers health and safety to be a matter of primary concern in its daily business. The company is accordingly committed to ensuring that in every area of company activity and at all levels of personnel involvement within those activities, priority is given to minimizing risk, eliminating hazards and promoting a safe and healthy working environment.

The company believes such key objectives benefit everyone involved in group activities and will only be achieved through the constant promotion of safe working practices, safety awareness and a commitment to safety on the part of each and every person involved with Group activities.

To achieve the objectives of the Occupational Health and Safety Policy (OH & S), Visual Identity ensures that:

  • All members of the Smts Company maintain a safe working environment.

  • Safety practices and procedures are maintained by each member that is relevant to the company activities, comply with statutory requirements and promote the involvement of all personnel in the maintenance of a safe working environment.

  • Appropriate emergency procedures exist in all work locations and that all personnel understand the procedures relevant to their location.

  • Provide training, instruction and supervision necessary to support OH&S in the various areas of group activity.

  • Appropriate procedures are maintained for the reporting and review of all lost time injuries and situations likely to be hazardous to a safe working environment.

  • Providing appropriate protective equipment to comply with statutory requirements and to adequately meet the relevant needs of each area of Group activity.


Personnel Protective Equipment
The personal protective equipment (PPE) is intended to minimize the exposure of personnel at work to injury and/or adverse effects.

These include:

  • Employee must be fully and properly kited while on the job. And these proper clothing, shoes, gloves etc may vary depending on his job. Generally, clothing of a material with good resistance to abrasion and not easily ignited by heat or flame should be worn. Under no circumstance shall a 100% nylon, polyester or similar eternal or undergarment clothing be worn by the personnel as clothing made of natural fibers are preferred. Synthetic fabrics tend to melt when exposed to heat thus can magnify burns.

  • Rings, neckties, loose torn clothing, wristwatches and necklaces create a special hazard and should never be worn around operating or moving machinery. Clothing should fit well.
